The Wedding Ringer

The Wedding Ringer isn't the most original premise in the world, it liberally steals from I Love You, Man and The Wedding Crashers, but it's done well and is certainly worth a watch if you're in the mood for a chuckle.

The hyperactive and soon-to-be-megastar Kevin Hart is on great form here and is just ridiculously watchable.

His start-up business selling best man services to guys like Josh Gad's Doug is a funny set up and the set pieces that follow on, while predictable, are full of great scenes.

Gripes are the completely unnecessary, overlong and very unfunny American Football scene which could easily have been replaced with a bit more background on the mismatch relationship at the centre of the piece, between Doug and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting's Gretchen (there's an obvious answer as to why they're together but no set up or early-days scenes).

Typical of American comedy there's as much visual humour here as scripted (although Doug's various falls all conjure belly laughs) and whilst the rest of the groomsman are all one note they do have some good moments.

It's not going to change the world but it'll certainly put a smile on your face and is worth a watch for Kevin Hart alone, not quite a rom-com but a bro-com instead.
