Mad Max: Fury Road

Mad Max: Fury Road. In a nutshell? Believe the hype, this is sublime.

It's two hours of absolutely non-stop, no-let-up action. It doesn't allow you to pause for breath.

The fact that the pace is sustained for that long and there's not a ounce of boredom you could possibly feel is testament to the sheer scale of the production.

The hyper-stylised, post-apocalyptic landscape looks magnificent on the big screen and the effects go from white out sun to blistering storms.

It's just a rollercoaster and held together brilliantly by Tom Hardy's enigmatic Max.

There's no backstory, no sense of why anything is happening you just know a megalomaniac in charge of the desert's water supplies is chasing after his beloved brides who have escaped his clutches thanks to the antics of Charlize Theron's Furiosa.

Go and see it, sit back and enjoy. I went to a normal cinema and saw this in 2D so if you are choosing to IMAX (pardon the pun) then prepare to have your eyes frazzled.

It's what the cinema was invented for.
