Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Strangely, I don’t think there’s actually too much to say about Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

Seemingly, Marvel’s slight retraction from its previously relentless schedule has suitably whetted audience appetites with a huge box office and tangible hype for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.

The MCU has hardly ever let us down and Brand New Day is absolutely adamantium-solid filmmaking at the usual blockbuster scale.

Moving Peter Parker’s story logically on whilst also remaining its own beast (not even leaving the city of New York) this has some excellent set pieces, suitably strong reveals and, crucially, a beating emotional heart at its centre.

Maybe the absolute ‘how did they actually make this happen?’ thrill of seeing the three Spider-Men together in No Way Home made the immediate adrenaline rush of that film stand out a little more but Brand New Day, no doubt, is the more solid and rewarding overall.

The true, ground-level emotion of these characters and arcs are what keeps people piling back and the *slight spoiler* tantalising promise of Spider-Man’s return (although ‘when’ and ‘where’ is in question) is hugely exciting.

Once again, a rock solid MCU entry and an excellent Spider-Man film.

It’s likely been said but how many characters can lay claim to having as many great properties made about them?
