The Brighton Film Club's Albums of the Year 2022
Well those twelve months sure went quick!
The 'back to normal' that was 2022 was definitely cause for celebration and the music world absolutely treated us, not only to the full return of live music and festivals, but an absolutely stacked list of releases.
Sadly, this year was also blighted by tragedy and we must honour those who have sadly departed us for that great gig in the sky this year: Ronnie Spector, Meat Loaf, Mark Lanegan, Taylor Hawkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Wilko Johnson and Christine McVie to name a few.
The album release slate sure delivered with megastars and newcomers alike and what felt like a general swing towards pop and listenability as we all emerged back into the world post-pandemic and so, after the customary squabbles and more shuffles than a Vegas casino, I present The Brighton Film Club’s Albums of the Year 2022:
