Another year where the number of albums in the below list has had to be bumped up and still doesn't do justice to what's been released.

There’s also been a smattering of excellent EP’s this year worth checking out if you’ve exhausted the above: skaiwater, Esme Emerson, Wallows, Alissic, Sunday (1994), Stephen Wilson Jr. and President to name a few as well as the brilliant Father John Misty Honeybear demos release. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' Live God live album is also incredible.

I also need to save a full paragraph for a comment on the Alive in the Catacombs live album and film by Queens of the Stone Age, and the subsequent tour that accompanied it. A truly moving, haunting, life-affirming and beautiful thing.

Wait, there’s more: Big Thief, Tyler Childers, Amaarae, clipping., caroline, Mansionair, Taylor Swift, Balu Brigada, Sabrina Carpenter, Wolf Alice, The New Eves, Mac DeMarco, Haim, Blondshell, The Horrors, Sam Fender, Horse Vision, Inhaler, The Weeknd and PartyNextDoor & Drake were a few of the others fighting for inclusion on this list and are also worth a spin amongst what seems like countless others this year!

Have a fantastic festive season and roll on 2026.
