The Lego Movie
The Lego Movie, rest assured, is like all the best animated films and isn't best left for the under-five in your life. Genuinely funny and visually incredible (the film is entirely CGI but subtle enough to appear like stop motion) the wild tangents and insane characters are enough to distract from the rather obvious hand holding plot (well what did you expect from a kid's movie.) The only downside is not that the main characters are originals but that the cameos that do appea

Inside Llewyn Davis
Inside Llewyn Davis is a major departure for the Coen Brothers. Focussing on a down and out couch surfer (maybe not such a major departure there) the film follows a struggling folk musician through a week of his life. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit tries so hard to be the American James Bond. As such, it's everything you'd expect i.e. overly patriotic and heavy on ridiculous accents (Kenneth Branagh's Russian accent is laughable and Keira Knightley really shouldn't be portraying an American when there's no reason she can't be British.) The Wolf of Wall Street
The Wolf of Wall Street is, put simply, one of the best films you'll ever see. Scorsese and DiCaprio are on inspired form and it condenses the book brilliantly. Genuinely hilarious and, at the same time, emotionally gut punching you have no excuse not to see it, the 3 hour run time breezes by. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

American Hustle
American Hustle is a classy 70's crime caper. Awesome performances from Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper and a show stealing role from Jennifer Lawrence. Kick-ass soundtrack, great direction but the plot does think it's a lot smarter than it actually is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
